We were admiring the weather last night and I took a video of the sky with my cell phone and captured this. I extracted the frame from the video.

Discarded AK-47s, originally uploaded by ken.eaton2.

This was one of the feet of the "Aspara Warrior" sculpture at the Art Museum in Ann Arbor. The entire sculpture is made from AK-47s from a disarmament in Cambodia.

We were in Gallup Park in Ann Arbor on Saturday May 1, the day President Barack Obama was giving the Commencement Address for the U of M graduation. We got to see his helicopters flying directly over Gallup Park!

Kodak Tourist II, originally uploaded by ken.eaton2.

My wife and I went to a garage sale because we saw in their ad that they were selling Minolta Camera equipment. So we went and it turned out that they were selling this baby with it's manuals, flash, case, lens filters, and all for $2.50! The camera even has 620 Film in it with one more exposure in it but I opened the camera before I realized it had film in it so I problably destroyed the film. It had one more exposure left, too! Oh well.

Kodak's website said this camera sold from 1951 - 1958 for the original list price of $100. That'd be around $800 today, and I got it for two bucks and some change! I love bargains!

My Learner Camera, originally uploaded by ken.eaton2.

This right here is the camera I learned on! Dad saw that we had purchased the old Kodak in my previous pictures and asked me if we'd like to have the old Minolta SLR that my Mom bought him as a wedding present back in the mid 70's. I took a photography class when I was in middle school and this very camera was the one I took with me for that class and now Dad has passed it on to me. It's so cool lookin'!

I found a copy of the user's manual online for this little guy and it looks to me like everything works. Now, if I could only find some film...

Times Change, originally uploaded by ken.eaton2.

Cass and I procured a vintage Kodak Brownie Target Six-20 Camera from the late 1940s - early 50s. Setting the camera next to our current point and shoot really makes you realize just how different things are now 60 years later.

I don't know what my fascination is with River Birch trees, but they're one of my favorite species. I love their leaves and flaky bark.

...and the other of me in focus. I don't know which one I like better. I think they're both cool.

We liked the reflection of the sunrise in different things. Here it was in the railing.

Yes, we were in Detroit taking these pictures! We should take pictures for tourist magazines! lol

Morning Flight, originally uploaded by ken.eaton2.

We paid off the camera that we used to take this shot the day that we took it. That credit account the camera was on was the last debt we had aside from our house and student loans. This photo pretty well illustrates how paying that debt off made us feel.

River Birch...flaky bark! Boy, the morning light makes everything look so soft! I loved it.

For some reason the "Beaubien" reminded me of the way J.J. Abrams displays words in Fringe, and the Star Trek movie.

It's coolness doesn't come from it's size. It's the surprise of how big it is!
