Disaster, originally uploaded by ken.eaton2.

My Dad and I went to Depot Town in Ypsilanti to get a little more familiar with our new cameras (He bought a Nikon D5000). We liked the tracks and the old school train station.

What I find ironic is that a rock like this has the potential to cause great mayhem and destruction should a train hit it and yet there are millions of them all around the tracks.

I tried making some changes to the colors in this picture to try and capture the mood of this photo more accurately.

The following 21 photos are from our family's trip to the Detroit Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) to see my brother, Rob, off as he has enlisted in the Army. He will become a heavy machinery operator and at the time of his enlistment, he has been given the rank of Private First Class.

That was Capt. Brong doing the swearing in. Rob is the big guy in the white shirt, front row.

Right after being sworn in, Rob held his son, Jesse. You'll almost never see my brother smile like that without his little boy.

There were too many cameras going, we never knew which ones to look at.

Rob doesn't usually show emotion, but I think a little showed through here.

I don't know what he was laughing about prior to this, but it shows that he was happy.

I like how Rob was waving to us from behind with his hand extended downward. That's so like him.

Seeing His Son Off, originally uploaded by ken.eaton2.

Dad was standing over by the bus all by himself watching Rob get settled and sitting in his seat.

It's hard for me to tell Rob's emotion here. He's not looking forward to leaving his family, but I wonder if he was thinking about what lies ahead for him.

This flower is almost the exact inverse of the color in it's background. Therefore it just pops out of the picture.

We walked along this little winding trail to get to the lake part of the park with all the bridges.

Cass's turn trying out the camera

(Ken) I really love this one because it shows how beautiful these flowers are even when they begin to wither away in Autumn as evidenced by the buds behind the flower with no petals.

Our Neighborhood, specifically our street, has these neat lamp posts and there's one almost directly across the street from our house. I think it looks cool.

Our New Nikon, originally uploaded by ken.eaton2.

Cass and I decided it was time to actually start participating in a hobby together and thought what better way to start than to buy some equipment to participate with. We both love photography, so naturally a great camera was the logical choice...
